"I came across the concept of birth doula through a podcast in my third trimester. As a first time mother, I knew right away a birth doula will be extremely helpful. Now looking at the chubby face of my two-month-old daughter, who was delivered vaginally at 9 lb 8 oz, I'm so thankful that we had Lauren as our doula. If I could go back in time, I wish I had hired Lauren much earlier in my pregnancy, and here's why:

1. Lauren is an empowering birth coach. She's extremely passionate and knowledgeable when it comes to childbirth. She's got years of experiences with the childbirth professionals in this area, which to me feels like having a friendly local guide in a completely foreign country. She didn't let me get lazy and just pick her brain for everything, but provided resources and methods for me to do my own research, so I can make informed decision myself and be confident about it. The skills and ways of thinking I learned from Lauren continue to apply to later medical decisions I have to make for my baby.

2. Lauren is a very effective communicator. She quickly found out the best way for both us to communicate and was always on top of our routine check-ins before labor. Every time after talking with Lauren on the phone, I felt encouraged and reassured. She has an amazing instinct to detect the emotions in our conversations and addressed them in the voices I needed to hear, whether it's a calming one, a cheerful one, or a tough one.

3. Lauren is a dedicated birth partner. She makes sure I know that she's on my side, even when we disagree. She was always there and provided all the emotional support I needed. Childbirth is an intimate process, and a lot of times the chemistry between birth partners really matters. Lauren was like a caring and funny big sister to me and we had a lot of laughter together, even during active labor. She would surprise us with sweet gestures and help make this birth experience even more special for us.

Like many Lauren's clients would say, I can't imagine achieving the same result without her.

Thank you so much, Lauren! We are so fortunate to have you as our doula!"

"You always knew what to say and when to say it. Your coaching and visualization exercises were so helpful and you knew exactly when to go to the hospital. You were a calming presence through a hectic time your voice encouraged me and assured that the last push is all I need! You worked as a team with Melanie, our Midwife, welcoming our baby into the world peacefully and happily "– Yana
